About Core Recipe

Welcome to Core Recipe! As a personal trainer and health coach, it’s important for me to walk my talk, so Core Recipe is a way for me to share things that are important to me: ways to live a healthy lifestyle, fitness, recipes, wellness tips, travel musings, new exercises, etc. My hope is that with each post, I’m able to inspire at least one person and to make a difference in the way people view their bodies, their relationships, their fitness and in making lasting lifestyle changes. Yay!

The name Core Recipe comes from the union of “core” (your inner strength and power) and “recipe” (diet, exercise, self care). From a fitness standpoint, when you have a strong core, meaning the area around your trunk and pelvis, the muscles in your abdomen, hips, pelvis and lower back are able to work in harmony. Not only does your core produce an enviable posture, it stabilizes your body in every type of workout, including day-to-day activities. If you have a weak core, you are more susceptible to poor posture, lower back pain and muscle injuries, so I make sure that the core gets a workout every time I’m active. I will post some of my favorite ways to strengthen yours!

I agree wholly with the statement: you are what you eat. The main ingredient to maintaining a healthy and disease-free body is what you choose to put into your body. I’m not strict with my diet, but I ingest a more healthy range of foods which always include fresh vegetables and fruits, very few processed foods or foods with more than five ingredients (or ingredients I don’t understand). On the other hand, I do feel strongly about treating yourself, in moderation, of course; one of my favorite snacks is homemade popcorn with real butter and brewer’s yeast. Eating healthy has become a habit for me and I love to cook and come up my own recipes, so you will be privy to some of my easy-to-make meals.

I look forward to sharing my Core Recipe with you. Enjoy!
